The Client

Our client is an established, international supplier of outdoor furniture, umbrellas and shade products. They have been in Australia for a number of decades and are a successful wholesaler. This new role is to get their commercial division up and running and will focus on sales of architectural shade products for commercial use. 

The Role

Your new role will be hands on and will see you developing strategic sales plans alongside the MD and in collaboration with the marketing manager. We require an experienced, energetic and driven Business Development Manager with experience selling outdoor commercial decorative products into building projects. The initial plan will be to grow brand awareness across the East Coast of Australia and target specification sales via landscape architects, interior designers, builders, developers and direct selling to various end users in Aged Care, Hospitality, Councils and Government. The scope to the role is huge and ideally you will head up the national sales team down the track. 

Skills Required

We are seeking individuals who can demonstrate the following skills; 

• Previous experience in a commercial sales role in furniture, shade or exterior decorative products.
• Strong network of contacts and relationships within the building industry across the East Coast of Australia.
• Experience specifying and selling products direct to builders, developers or end users. 
• An understanding of furniture / joinery or construction projects/products would be ideal.
• Superb communication and presentation skills and ability to build relationships at various levels.
• Proven stable track record of employment in sales and business development. 
• Strong team player who is able to work with internal & external departments to rectify problems when they arise.

The Package
The starting salary package is $110K + Super and will also include a FM Vehicle / Car Allow + Fuel Card + Commission paid from receipt of purchase order and on delivery of the project.
